Getting gown made

Did any of you ladies get your gown made? I'm thinking of doing this.

Is it possible to do this for $1000 or less? I'm not looking to do anything crazy - I want a strapless satin/mermaid or trumpet style gown w/ a chapel or sweep train. However, I do want beading on the top and bottom (Including the train).

I do know the person so I'm hoping he'll work with me on giving me a decent price for what I want.

i bought a plain white/light ivory dress from them that was a trumpet style..

maybe you can buy a plain one cheap and then have someone add applique..

also try buying a sample dress too.. that'll run in your price range...
