I ahev aweddign this weekend and was thinking of goingto the MAC counter at Walt Whitman mall to getmy makeup doen and see if I like it for my own wedding. What do you do? Just ask for a makeup trial? Is it free? I'm clueless about this.

call ahead and make an appt to have your makeup done. Different counters have different rules. I did this recently at a Bobbi Brown counter and it was free, but I bought a few things.
If you like the woman who does it, you can ask if she'd be interested in coming to your house for your wedding.

Call them up! You might need an appointment since it's on a weekend and they may be busy. I am not sure if you have to pay or if there is a minimum purchase.

I had my makeup done at the MAC in Macy's Manhasset for my e-party. I made an appointment and had to buy $50 of their product. But they did tell me that bridal trials are free.

it was I think $40.00 at her studio which she does wedding make-up. She travels for a fee to the location where you get dressed in the morning of your wedding day. She came to my mother's house in the morning where I was getting dressed. She also did my mother, and 3 out of 4 BMs including my Jr. BM.
