Getting Makeup done by MAC

Getting Makeup done by MAC

Hi Ladies! I just scheduled my bpic session for June and I think I'm going to have someone at the MAC counter at Macy's or someone at the MAC store do my makeup.

I'm starting to budget for everything now so I was just wondering, how much would it be to have my makeup done that day and do I have to make an appointment or invest in products when I'm finished?

Any info you can give will be greatly appreciated! I tried doing a search but couldn't really find what I wanted. TIA!!

i am going to MAC tomorrow for a trial. You should make an appointment. The trial is free, but usually people buy makeup when they go in. It's not required though. I would definatly tip if your not going to buy makeup.

Generally it is free but you have to buy $50 worth of products. Be careful thought - some MAC counters seem to have a 5 product rule.

Yes... the majority of the MAC counters, they want you to purchase at least 5 items. Those girls work based on sales... so getting free trials actually hurts them.

I asked at the Mac counter at the Macys in Manhasset and was told that they will do your makeup for a trial, and you have to buy 5 products. Then, they will do your makeup for the day of the wedding, and you'll have to buy 5 products. HTH

Thats def food for thought because I am planning on doing my own makeup BUT with Mac products.
Thanks for the info! And let me know how your trial went-I heard they have this awesome spray on thing (not airbrush) that holds your concealer all day long.

I went for my e-pics...all I said was that I would like to have a full set of makeup done and they told me that I needed to spend 50. I made an appointment. I loved it and needed the makeup anyway so I bought probably closer to over 125 bucks worth.

I had them do my makeup for my e-pics and had to spend min of $50.00. I did not mind b/c I bought what I needed.

I went there for a wedding makeup trial and made an appt first. I was told you have to buy $50 worth of products (not hard to do since I love MAC lol!) so I did... I also went there recently to have my eyes done for a wedding I was going to and bought way over $50 worth of products. I didn't make an appt for that bec it was just my eyes. I would call the MAC counter you are going to and ask what their 'policy' is as far as buying products etc when you go in for your makeup, and also make an appt...
FYI here is Macy's Walt Whitman's MAC number: 631.351.4264
