Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

Hi ladies, My ceremony is at the reception hall. The venue is beautiful but they dont provide any decor for the ceremony. I need ideas for what to use instead of an arch? Its too much to bring in my own arch for a half hour ceremony so I'd rather use something else, plus they are expensive....Only other idea I had was some kind of standing candelabra??? Any ideas I would really appreciate! Thanks!

Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

hmm...what about 2 pillars on either side of you and your FH with a flower arrangement on the top of each? I would imagine you can rent that from a florist. Or I've also seen 2 tall iron fixtures with room for candles on it instead of a tall candelabra. Did your florist run any ideas by you?

Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

We're using these: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/candletrees1.html My dad is making boxes for them to stand on to make them 7 ft tall. Then we are having 2 small arrangements on the front of the alter.

Yep - ceremony and reception. I was so excited to have my ceremony outside in the gazebo under the willow tree but I recently found out I have to have it inside. My FH and I are having an interfaith marriage and the priest will perform the ceremony at TC, but we have to be indoors Oh well. At least we get the outside for cocktail hour!

I'm with you on minimal flowers. I'm more of a candle person. I was thinking that the florist can possibly rent you fixtures for the ceremony and then you can place votives on them? I'm not totally sure how that works, but it can't hurt to ask

Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

We are having our florist make two arrangements for us that will be placed on top of two pillars (which the florist is providing as well). So they don't go to waste after the short ceremony they will be moved behind our sweetheart table in the reception space as extra decoration.

What about large vases with just floating candles on top.

Re: Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

we had ours inside of our RH. i did not have a big floral budget also. Being Jewish, we had to have a chuppah. My mom made quilt for the covering and we bought tall poles from Loews and wrapped them in ribbon. then our florist, Bella Flowers, let us borrow her chuppah bases to keep the poles upright (otherwise we were going to use cheap pots filled with cement and wrapped in fabric.) I don't know if you need to have a cover, but it was really nice, created a mood for the ceremony and was no pricey. Also, the quilt she made now hangs on our wall as a symbol of our marriage and the vows we made.

Getting married at recption hall, HELP!

I don't know if you have a theme or anything, but have you thought about maybe doing a backdrop? I've seen ribbon backdrops and faux flower backdrops. http://cdn.greenweddingshoes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/nichols-wedding-09.jpg here's an example. Etsy has lots of different options or if you are a crafty person you can DIY!

Check with your florist. Some have arches that you can rent.
