getting married by universal life officiant? help

Hi everyone,

We are planning to have a friend marry us who is an officiant through ULC. We are getting married in Suffolk County. I keep reading mixed stories son how easy/hard it was to do this and if it was accepted by the clerk's office and considered legitimate.
So does anyone have experience with this?
When/how do we need to 'prove' the officiants status?
How does this all work?
