Ok. So I've never planned a wedding before lol. I'm not really sure how far in advance I have to book certain things. I have the church and the hall booked. I'm gonna be a Giorgio's bride! :) But how early is too early to pick out bridesmaid dresses and stuff? I found bridesmaid dresses I really like....but what if I miss out on something that comes out later in the year. Any summer 2011 brides do anything other than book the church/hall?!?!?! Help :)

I'm Sept 2011 and I've done nothing but the hall and church... and I've decided what color scheme I'd like to use...next step is photog and entertainment...
things like dresses... I personally am waiting about a year out to do my own gown shopping, and then once I know what I'm wearing, I'll choose my bm gowns.
The girls on here are fantastic, you'll get a lot of help... but take advice with a grain of salt and figure out what's good for you. Remember it's about YOU, and everyone's different.

Thanks so much! Yea, I'm just afraid they will discontinue these dresses that I love. I'm not gonna start my own shopping until this summer. My wedding is Aug 2011. I have decided on colors. So I will take your advice and look at photographers and entertainment next. Makes sense since those have to be booked and they can only be in one place at a time.

Even if they do get discontinued, there's SO MUCH out there, you'll find something you love. Like I said, it's a personal choice, if you have your BM's picked out and they don't mind ordering and you don't mind having their gowns picked out before your own gown, then go for it... but there are SO MANY DRESSES, lol

I'm September 2011 also. I'm waiting until about a year out to worry about dresses, mine and the girls. I'm going to start looking at photogs and entertainment next. But reallyjust going to the showcases if I see something that stands out i'm going to book it. But take your time especially since you have it.

Congrats and welcome. I'm a fall 2011 bride and all we have done is the RH. We're working on DJ and church right now, and starting to think about photos, but that's really about it.

im july 2011 and i have rh church photog and DJ.... im actually gonna look at dresses this weekend( i was supposed to go to a trunk show this past weekend but got sick.. so i had to reschedules so i wouldn't get charged $50 )... i don't plan on buying my dress until about a year out... but i know that i change my mind like crazy so im gonna do a little looking here and there and get serious as it gets closer to july HTH

Hi, Im an April bride and so far have the hall, church, photo and dj booked. I havent asked my girls yes so I havent looked at their dress or flowers yet.

I'm June and I have Church Hall Photo Dress (but only because I won it, if not I'd be waiting a few months)
I'm looking to book Video and DJ within the next month or two
Then about a year out I will do STDS, BM dresses and flowers

I would say that a year prior is fine for dresses, just tell them that your wedding is a month before it actually is, to ensure that they get in on time. I am booking my DJ a year in advance, but only because I love him and want to make sure we get it booked.

I'm getting married in June 2011 and I pretty much have all of my vendors done. The only reason why I did them so early was so that I got the vendors I wanted.
But you have plenty of time to do it still!

im an October 2011 bride, and I've booked the church, hall, dj, and photographer. I'm going to look into the florists next. In regards to dresses, im probably going to start looking over the summer.

First of all Congrats and Welcome!
I would maybe wait until you are at or under a year to look for BM dresses. You have this new collection that just came out plus the Fall collection that will be coming out soon AND the next Spring collection to look forward to. You may pick something you like now but it may be discontuinued or may down the line find something else you like even better. Also, do you have your dress yet? I wold wait until you have your dress before you start to look for BM dresses. You may want to coordinate the material of your dress with the girls.

EDIT: and in response to the other part of the question, we have the Church, Reception Hall, and Photographer booked. We are going to blocking off the rooms at the hotel at the end of May and we also hope to get the DJ booked soon as well. Flowers I am going to wait until I am at a year to book because I am so indecisive and limos I am going to wait as well.

Welcome and congrats - i too haven't planned a wedding before lol.
But I am a May bride and we have, RH, church, DJ and photog already booked.
We are in the process of booking limos, video and started the invite process.
As for dresses (mine and BM's) I am going to wait for a year out. Flowers will also be a year out - b/c I could give a cr@p about flowers anyway LOL.
In regard to invites - we started SUPER early but that's b/c the 2 people I am interested in get busy and 1 of them only takes a few brides per month, so I wanted to get a jump on everything.
