Ok, so my combination lock is rusting, my Bally's card is dusty...how do you girls motivate yourselves to get to the gym? I always seem to be too tired, or have something more important to do....

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
I joined with my mom. I hate the fact that I go with her, because when i dont go, she calls me fat. Nothing is more of a motivator than being called fat by your mom!!

I don't have any motivation either - I thought putting on MY dress would be motivation, but it looked good on me !!! ugh ! .......i WANT it to be a size 4, but if it's not, it doesn't look bad ....- SO, my new motivator was my dusty bikini........not THAT's a motivator !! don't want to look like THAT in Hawaii !!!

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
I just joined a gym and I hear ya its so hard to get motivated. I keep saying to myself how I want to look really good in my wedding dress - strapless and backless. I just get on that epilectic machine and count the days to my wedding

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
Start taking classes at your gym. It's much easier to head to the gym for a class you like then to walk on a treadmill. Try different classes until you find on you like- kick boxing, aerobics, step, yoga, etc... Something will peak your interest and you'll find that you look forward to going to the gym.

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
try to get someone to go with and set a time for each day. i had the same problem, so now i take a cardio kick class. I know if i don't get my lazy butt up I'm going to miss my class. I also got 2 of my cousins to go with me which helps a lot!

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
I work as a personal trainer part time, so I might have a skewed perspective here, but I say either hiring a trainer or getting a buddy to go with is the best motivation ... for me its all about accountability.

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
My FH is my motivator...He is in the gym religiously 5 days a week...So I know if I don't go, I can't complain to him about how I look or feel...I know once we are living together, it will be easier too bc when I see him go, I will want to go too!

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
Yup, my FH is really great about going himself, and also great about not giving me a hard time about not going (he's a very understanding guy). Maybe it's time that I tell him to get into drill sergeant mode!

Re: Getting Motivated for the Gym?
I always imagine myself on my honeymoon. I want to be able to comfortably walk around in a bikini and feel confident. Thats my motivation.
