Getting 'not attending' Responses.. Did it make you,, bummed?
I sent a bunch of invites to people I have since stopped working with. All of them are/were nice people, but it is doubtful I will have much of a relationship with any of them going forward. So, I sent them invites primarily because I sent them STDs before I knew I would be making a job change. STD=Invite no matter what! Well, we only have about 1/2 the invites out, long story, and have two yeses, one unexpected from reclusive relative, and one 'no' from a former work colleague as I described. I dont know what my problem is, but I still feel a little hurt about it!!! I mean, I knew he probably would say no. They have like 4 little kids and they live way up in Westchester so we are talking travel and babysitter PLUS the main fact that I wont be seeing this person much if ever in the future. I am worried the unexpected 'no's' I get are going to make me really hurt! Any suggestions? I know all the logical things...but its not really helping! I'm just way over sensitive, I think.....

Logically we all know it's going to happen. But it still doesn't mean it won't sting a little. Just keep thinking that people sometimes can't make things, but it won't make your wedding day any less amazing.

I've been ok with the no's. I'm so worried about having too many people that its almost a relief. LOL.

I've been ok with the few nos I have gotten so far. I pretty much knew they would be nos so it doesn't bother me at all. I'm actually happy, because its less ppl I have to pay for lol Now if it were a close friend who I expected to come who didn't have a legit excuse then I'd be bothered.

Yea I totally understand. I got annoyed when people checked off 'no' and didn't write any sort of explanation, or at least 'so sorry we can't make it' or something. Even if its a made up reason, its nice to write something. I think its the emotional part of being a bride though, because I know it really shouldn't matter.

I've only gotten 3 nos and it's scaring me...i was a little dissapointed when my one boss responded no...we're very close...but then i found out that they'll be in Florida that weekend so it made me feel better that they were upset they were missing it. I think you'll be bummed by some and some you won't care about...but in the end you'll have tons of people at your wedding and you'll get all of 1 second to see and speak to each of them so don't worry about it!

I was the same way! It bothered me that ppl didn;t write a reason as if it was somehting unimportant. Ugh I gt over it & didn;t miss those ppl at the wedding at all! Don't worry about those not coming, focus on your wedding & celebrating with ppl that care about you not those that just come just to come
