FI & I are seriously looking for a house right now & I love my apt. dearly but it would be nice to save 1100 every month instead of throwing it away on rent....so I'm thinking of moving back home until we find a house.
so has anyone gotten out of one before?
Maybe if I find someone to rent it for the landlord, he'd be OK with it??
It's a GREAT apt....anyone looking for one in Mineola? lol

we are thinking about doing this. our landlord hasn't really followed her end of the lease. If we do leave before the end of the lease we are going to send a certified letter stating the day we will vacate and that we want or security deposit back or we will report her to the NYC dept. of housing for violating codes.

See, but my landlord has been great. Never a problem..so at least you have some sort of legit reason.

Still... people do get out of leases all the time. Is your apartment a legal apartment? Or maybe you could just talk to your landlord and explain your situation.

It is legal...it's actually rent controlled (so that could help me a bit)
