Getting REALLY sick of all the contract loopholes....

..I feel like CRYING ALREADY!!

We are paying our final balance, and at every turn they are getting us with other CRAP charges. First it was counting ourselves as full price guests and adding us to the count, now we just reazlied that when they wrote 1/3 plate price for children on our contract...the mean 1/3 OFF plate price! So they charged us almost 75 bucks a head per child!!!!!!

I am SO PISSED because when it says 1/3 plate price, I take that to mean 1/3 of the total price per person!! It should have been half what we have to pay!!!

With every passing day coming closer to our wedding, I am feeling more and more ripped off by this ENTIRE industry!!!

And to boot, our banquet manager is MIA, and now we have to deal with one who isn't getting the commission off of our party, and probably won't even give a **** about any of it!

Edited to add: I would argue with them about the kids plate thing. You can quote their CONTRACT - 1/3 Plate Price is 1/3 of the total not off!!

Well that's a little dishonest on the hall's part. We have 1/2 off for children 5-12 and free under 5 spelled out. As for commisssion - - I don't think it will affect you, I'm sure the owner's give the commissions once the party is done. What if someone cancels, etc.? Because if that's the case, I'll become a banquet manager and have a relative come once a week for a bogus booking! Plus they expect to be tipped - - I wouldn't worry about at all.

I am not a penny pincher, so the amount I am talking about really doesn't even make a difference right now, but it's the principle! I just how with EVERYONE, we've been getting this sneaky treatment!

I've just been having a bad week...first the bridsmaid dress issues, now all of this.

I'd argue the kids meal issue, for the sake of principle. Also, go to the hall's manager. Talk to them, maybe they will help.

You should NOT have to pay $75 for a child's meal. Usually they offer them something like chicken fingers, which is definitely not worth that kind of money. Also, a child doesn't drink any alcohol, so that should also be reflected in the price. I say fight for the lower price. I would!

No offense - but that is BS!!!!!!!! My husband would have FLIPPED if the hall tried to pull that crap!

I wont even get into all the 'little' things my hall pulled when it changed hands...

This is a very stressful time for you - and I understand why you don't want to even fight it. If you can find the time - take a deep breath, pour yourself your favorite drink and take a nice long bubble bath!!

You will see that on your magical day, none of this will matter to you - you will be floating on Cloud 9!!!

1/3 plate price means 1/3 OF the price, not 1/3 OFF - I would fight them on this, just for the principle of it.

i think we all forget to count ourselves as guest...you would think that they would give you a wdding 'gift' ???

my hall let me add our kids into our minimum...and then gave them the kids meals!!! I was a little upset...If I am paying full price...let them eat the full meal!!
