It finally feels like for the first time things are falling all into planning place. We got our e-pics back so I am working on our save the dates yay Photoshop. We are working on our contract for our hotel block. We have our flower appointment next week. I already ordered and received what I want to use as the 'vase' for our centerpieces. We are working on our guest list along with giving in our input for our engagement party. I already had a mini engagement party my sister threw me a pampered chef party. I got sooo much stuff. My fh's mother is also throwing me one in August but this time with her side and a brunch. (You can't have huge pampered chef parties they just don't work.
So seeing our vision starting to come to life is pretty cool. Also getting to celebrate our engagement finally. We have been engaged for a year and besides for just me and him celebrating we haven't gotten a chance to celebrate with friends and family. Getting so excited again! I think I haven't got this excited since we got engaged and booked our venue. It sort of makes it feel real again. There was a good lull going on there where I was just booking things, happy about them but still so far away from having everything come together. Hope some of you other girls know what I mean.

Getting So Exciting
I definitely get it!! As another October bride, I felt like I was taking my time booking things just to make this moment last longer and so that I didn't have to experience those long lulls. Realizing that the videographer I wanted was already booked on our wedding day got me thinking, wow it's really not that far away after all. Having an engagement party for me was one of the good parts about having a longer engagement. It was nice to have our families together in one place for a happy celebration other than the wedding.
My mom has a countdown in her kitchen on a blackboard and we are approaching 1 year and 3 months away. Now it doesn't feel SO far away anymore, and I feel like when we go to vendors they won't do a double-take when we say October 2014! lol. I am happy for you!

October bride here too! I keep going back and forth in my head with OMG the wedding is so far away and OMG it will be here so soon! Lol. Glad I have a nice long engagement to take my time planning everything without crazy pressure.

I 100% know exactly what you're talking about! When you book/plan something it's just so exciting and you feel so good about it!

Getting So Exciting
We got engaged on March 30th of this year, and we are getting married in August 2014. We are almost done booking all our major vendors, and things are starting to feel real now. We didn't have an engagement party, but my family is coming to NY next month (we are very close but we haven't seen each other since my engagement and they are so excited). I think when they are here and we are planning the wedding with them and the FILs, things will really start to sink in, that this is really happening. So yeah, I totally get what you mean

I'm so glad I am not the only one. Like I knew it was going to happen but the reality of it actually 'its really happening' is now like hitting me since I am getting the ideas I had come to life. Omg I saw hated that with the vendors with the double take October 2014? Yes I said 2014 yes I know it's still 2012 lol I am glad I got all my major vendors booked that way I didn't have to go oh I really wanted that vendor. Plus next summer when we are in crunch time I can just hopefully relax. I plan on doing the detail things and DIY in the next year taking my time since they are more time consuming. We mainly needed the long engagement so we could come up with the money for the wedding lol.
