Getting Wisdom teeth........

hurts very bad....what to do? can I have them pulled? pain pain pain

You should have them pulled, especially if they hurt. Having them pulled isn't too bad. You'll probably be knocked out, and then they'll give you painkillers to take for a couple of days. Just make sure you put ice on your cheeks immediately following the surgery to reduce swelling. The more swelling you have, the more painful it is.

I had all four of mine pulled when I was 23.

Before that they started to come in off set (Impacted) I could feel then come through the gumline. It made my jaw sore.

When all four were pulled I went in on a Friday afternoon (12:30 appt) and was put under with an IV drip. I woke up and it was all done. Dad drove me home and I took my meds and ate jello. Went back to work the following Monday really no worse for the wear.

It's just a scary procedure I think because we all think getting of teeth getting yanked out, drilled out and/or cut out. They left a piece of my tooth behind that wouldnt budge. I REALLY appreicate being 'out' of it when it happened. Couldnt imagine WATCHING it!

I got two out last month. It was really painful at first when I got home when the novocaine was wearing off. The prescription they had given me for painkillers was really hard to find because it wasn't common pills used anymore, so I had to call up for a new one. I was dying to get those painkillers. Mine were really impacted, so it hurt like hell.

But once I got them, I just laid down and relaxed for a couple days. I was in that druggy state where I just felt like extremely relaxed and would fall in and out of sleep. And I got myself Carvel cake! That was the best part.

I got all 4 of mine out at once when I was 18. 2 had to be surgically removed (They didn't grow in yet) and the other 2 were pulled. I looked like a chipmunk! My FH was very helpful, altternating the ice pack from cheek to cheek every 15 minutes while I was knocked out on medication

If they are bothering you def get them OUT!!!! I waited almost 3 years after my dentist told me I should have them out. I got all 4 at once and I was fine a little sore. Don't wait!!!!

I have to set up an appointment to get all of mine yanked too.
