i told them that my parents are immigrants from italy and they pushed me into the feminnine field -- then i realized there were male teachers in the room...so oops, i back tracked and told them im glad it isnt htat way anymore

no foot in mouth! Your parents are from a very male dominated profession and to them ,it is feminine...and it still is a feminine profession even if there are male teachers...so i think it was a good honest answer!

after the pinching cheeks part, i mentioned that i know im not supposed to b/c im a teacher and we're not supposed to touch the kids, but the kids love that attention and love so i do it anyway

insert foot again (no wonder my fiance loves me, my mouth can fit both feet)

Just keep your head up! I know its easier said than done and I don't know you persoanlly but you seem like a very caring person who deserves this award!

I think that they will realize that you are being genuine and not trying to make up answers to please them. When I have interviewed people in the past, what has stuck out to me are those who were not trying to impress me.

I just noticed that as well.... I've been so nervous lately..... I am going to be a wreck in APril.
