I dont think its dependent on the season or time of day. I think it depends on how close you are to the person.

ITA. I usually start at $100 each for FH and I. Then go up depending on my relationship with the person. Where is the wedding? Generally you want to at least cover your plate.

I have to totally agree.....It doesnt matter what season it is or what day it is. It depends on how well/close you are with the person(s). JMO

Re: gift
At least $300. Sat. night weddings during peak seasons are expensive- so $300 for two people should at least cover your plate.

Re: gift
How close are you to this person? I would say around $300. $250 if you are not too close, but I wouldn't go below that. (If it is you and a guest.) Also just remember if you are inviting this couple to your wedding then you'll get the same thing back probably. So if you want to give $100, $200, just be prepared to get the same thing back.

ITA. The location doesn't necessarily dictate how much the wedding is costing. The gift you give depends on the relationship with the person and your financial situation, not the where or when. If a close friend had a backyard bbq wedding or a wedding at OHEKA I'd give her the same amount.

Re: gift
I usually try to figure out how much per plate and then I add $100 to that. I always feel you should always cover for you plate atleast.

Re: gift
I'd say $200 per couple as base, but it depends on how close you are to them.

ITA I don't think people are 'less deserving' of a gift because they chose to have their wedding in November or on a Friday or whatever!

Re: gift
I think you give what you can afford.
I can afford to give $150 each (300 for couple). I think thats a nice gift if you can afford it.

Re: gift
I don't do it based on time of year, day of week or day vs night wedding. I give based on how close i am to the person. If someone I barely know gets married on a saturday night during peak season but a very close friend does sunday in the winter, i'll still give my close friend more money for her sunday winter wedding simply bc i am closer to her.
anywhere from $250-400 dh and I give and higher if we're alot closer to them

Not less than $250 or $300 but not only does it depend on my relationship with the person, it depends on the place for me too. I'm not going to give the same gift probably for a backyard reception or a dingy place as I am for Oheka's Castle or the Plaza...
