Can you believe this girl??? I gotta admit, I've given some crappy wedding gifts when I was in school or had crappy jobs. I'm not gonna go into debt or be short on rent for a gift and I wouldn't expect anyone else to either. But if anyone complained about the gift I gave I would put a stop payment on that check REAL QUICK.
That said, I would be a little PO-ed if someone showed up and didn't even have the decency to buy a $4 card to say congratulations. Even when I was broke I always gave a card thanking the couple for inviting me and saying sorry I couldn't give a bigger gift.
Sending an email/facebook message calling the guest out is super awkward though.
