Re: Gift Etiquette
I kinda eloped but I refuse to send out announcements even though MIL insists.
I think it's a ploy for gifts

Re: Gift Etiquette
I would give $100. More if you are close to her. (JMO).

I agree with this range depending on how close you are to this friend.

Re: Gift Etiquette
Is she registered? I would send something off the registry if she is- and depending on how close a friend she is somewhere between $100-$150

Re: Gift Etiquette
girls-how about if you were invited to the wedding and couldn't make it...what's an appropriate amount to give. I gave $100.00 even though the plate per person might have been a little more. Was that okay?

Re: Gift Etiquette
Money is good. But if you are good friends why send the announcement? I think she just wants gifts...JMHO

Re: Gift Etiquette
Maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant? I feel like money would be weird in that situation- but thats totally just me!

I would do either a gift card of money. You can never go wrong with cash. I agree with everyone else about 100-150

I think thats fine since they aren't actually paying for you to come to the wedding.

Re: Gift Etiquette
I would send her a card that said congratulations. I wouldn't even think to send a gift. If I suddenly eloped I wouldnt expect people to get me anything. But this is JMO.
