r they having a 'hitched' party or just sent out announcements??

i guess 100 to 150 would be good

I have a feeling they are not going to have a party... but not sure for a fact...

if they had a party i would give what i would give for a wedding...

and i don't think she will register... she is making this very very very low key....

I wish she were making a bigger deal cause she is a close friend...

Since she's a close friend, I would send $150...

I personally would give 350$ thats the average gift that we give. Also, check out the registry.

hoenstly... if you usually give gifts based on your relationship and not where the couple is having their reception it shouldnt matter if they eloped. IMHO, Id give $300-350 b/c that's what we usually give couples

girls-how about if you were invited to the wedding and couldn't make it...what's an appropriate amount to give. I gave $100.00 even though the plate per person might have been a little more. Was that okay?

For a wedding I was invited to for a really close friend, but I couldn't attend, I got her a really fancy crystal vase from her registry.

For wedding where I am invited, we are not close friends and it is obvious I was on some sort of C list (I once got an invite that was postmarked AFTER the RSVP date, and I received the invite 2 weeks before the wedding in Michigan!!!!!) I didn't do anything.

I would send her a card that said congratulations. I wouldn't even think to send a gift. If I suddenly eloped I wouldnt expect people to get me anything. But this is JMO.

i agree with that, it seems that its just an excuse to get some extra $$
