This is kind of a long story. FH's mom didn't contribute much to the wedding (my parents are paying for most of it), however, she gave us $$$ for a down payment on a house. FH's mom had a stroke several years ago and suffered short term memory loss along with other permanent damage. I would like to get her a gift and give it to her at the rehearsal dinner but I dont know what. I am not close with her, 95% of the time she doest know who I am. She has no interests and doesnt do much b/c of the brain damage she suffered from her stroke. We get her tickets to a Broadway show almost every Christmas so that seems kind of repetitive. Anyone have any good ideas? I dont really want to spend $500 on a parent album she is never going to look at. We wanted to get her a picture of the three of us framed from our wedding (but we can't give her that until after the wedding).

Re: Gift for MIL
Problem Solved....I got FMIL a pearl bracelet to match the necklace we got her for her birthday.
I also bought my parents gifts today....a gift certificate to Foxwoods and tickets to a show at Foxwoods.

Re: Gift for MIL
Not sure exactly how much you want to spend, but how about a piece of jewelry that she will always have and get use out of?
ETA: Nice job! Congratulations!!
