gift for officiant?

gift for officiant?

Hi girls,

My officiant is a family friend, who is charging 'whatever you think is fair'. What would you give this person? Money? A nice gift? Both? She's such a nice lady, I'd like to make sure I do the right thing.

the preist that married us didnt ask for a 'donation' for the church or charge any fee. dh grew up going to that church so we gave them $500 and we got the preist a pair of nice cuff links as kind of a 'thank you' its a tough call.

Preist is a huge movie buff, a wine lover, and occasional cigar smoker. So we puchased gift certificates to Hollywood Video, a case of his favorite wine ( we asked the cleaning lady), and a box of various cigars. We also will be making a donation to the church. HTH
