Im having trouble trying to figure out a gift for my fiance to give to him before the wedding. He is an electronics/toy kind a guy but I want to give him something more personal. Please let me know if you have any suggestions? Also if you have ideas for parents that would be great too!!

DH and I didn't exchange for the wedding.
As for our families, we bought my mom her day of jewelery. We bought my dad engraved cufflinks from Tiffany's. We bought his mom a digital camera. We bought my brother Yankee tickets. And my sister a bracelet.
And we also bought our parents the Lenox Double Invitation frame that we gave them at the rehearsal dinner.

My fiance always calls me his 'sugar mama' because he is a medical resident and will be for a while. We decided to skip the gifts since we spent so much on wedding stuff...
It is funny that so many people bought the plasma tvs. When we moved in together, that was the first big purchase we made -- at his request!

I am terrible... probably the hardest person to get a gift for. My fiance figured that out, so now we shop together for gifts. Not sure if that is a possibility, but if you are going to spend a lot, I am sure you will want him to like it. Some ideas: a watch, golf clubs (if he likes to play golf like my fiance), a nice money clip (Tiffany's), something electronic like a fancy ipod or ipod speakers....
Or, maybe a nice sound system for the TV you bought -- then you can enjoy it too

i got mine warm socks in case he gets cold feet.
and i got him a handkerchief with a line from our wedding song embroidered on it.
plus we're writing eachother a letter to read that morning.
I LOVE THE SOCKS IDEA ! I have to steal that one from you.
We decided not to spend a huge amount on gifts, as we want to redecorate our co-op. I am getting him a sterling silver money clip with his initials engraved on it.

we decided not to exchange gifts, but i found the coolest cufflinks and decided to buy them anyway. they were only $38, so it's not much, but they're perfect. FH is half Cuban and loves cigars and I found cufflinks that said 'cuban cigar' on them. they are freakin cool! he's going to love them.

I had a ring made for him. A ruby ring with diamond accents. Although he's not a 'ring guy' it's more a sentimental piece and something he'll wear out and eventually give to his son (or daughter) as an heirloom.
