Any ideas for a nice gift for a co-worker who recently adopted a baby boy? The couple is not someone we are very close to but are pretty wealthy and gave us a very generous gift for our wedding. We would like to get them something nice and maybe something unique but nothing too personal sine we don't know them that well. ANy ideas?

how bout if you go to 1800 flowers.com or that gift store, make a memory they have baskets that have a stuffed animal, some baby stuff like powders/lotions, etc..... Babies R us sells the baskets too
or you can do the flowers and they put a stuffed animal inside but I would get a nice gift basket b/c they can always use stuff like that

I once got my boss a gift certificate for a one month supply of Pampers ... I thought that was cool ... but I don't know if they still do that.

What about a gift certificate for a baby photographer to come to the house and take pictures?
I think anything personalized is nice also.

what about putting together a baby first aid kit...I did this for a friend...and she told me one night it came in use when the baby had gas...and low and behold...I put in gas drops!!!

I would give them a very nice winter outfit and a cute toy. You are not that close with them so I wouldn't get too personal. You can also get them a silver baby spoon from Tiffanys if you want something really nice. I also am not a fan of 1800 flowers- the flowers die so darn quick and cost a ton.

Thanks guys I am going to tell DH some of your ideas and see what he says - he works with the guy. You guys have gotten my creative juices going! I am definitely not getting something too personal - we don't feel comfortable with that.

Lots of stores sell the baby keepsake feeding sets, which include an engravable silverplated cup, spoon and bowl. Or you can get a comb/brush set. A growth chart personalized with the baby's name is another nice idea.
Personally, I really LOVE the idea of the photography session - but I don't know if I'd give that to someone I didn't know well. JMO.
