I ordered embroidered hankies/poems for my mom and dad from http://newtraditionshankies.com/. I received them yesterday and they are BEAUTIFUL!!! I'll take some photos when I get home. But they really are special gifts! I ordered the box that opens and pops up with the hankie and the poem in the back. My mom's is embroidered in light blue thread and my dad's is in gold. They both have different poems for mothers and fathers.

the handkerchiefs are such a great idea. I saw them in a bridal mag and started to cry! it said something like

'To dry your tears as you have dried min' ...I LOST it! lmao I think it is such a great gift! knowing my mom she will be crying like a baby so it'll go to good use.

So girls who gave your parents hankercheifs, is that all you gave them or is that in addition to something else? I am clueless as to what to get them.

A few years ago my friend got married and gave both moms Coach bags, but that is a little out of our price range.

Kristen - do you want to give something they will be able to keep or it doesnt matter?

we gave his parents ticketmaster gift cards so they could buy tickets to see a show, since they love that! plus it they would be able to have a night out.

but if you want to give soemthing to remember, i like the hankerchief idea, or maybe a plaque about daughters and parents, or a piece of jewelry each.

we decided to pay for the parents albums for our wedding pics. they weren't included in our package and, sadly, are FAR from inexpensive

Yea im thinking I want to get something they can keep forever and something they can use. That was a cute idea the GC to Ticketmaster. After all the planning and stress I have put my parents through, they deserve a night out. Maybe I will do the hankies and a GC to their favorite restaurant or something like that.

Gina-what did you get your readers???

See that is a cute idea! I would have gotten them that, but my sister actually got my mom one for Christmas and she returned it!!! She said she didnt like the fact that it stays plugged in or something like that! I think it was because she didnt understand how it worked. Old people
