gift questions! - Long Island Weddings

I am curious about this as well. I have read alot that people think you should spend $150 /bm. I am probably going to range $50-$150.

So far I have gotten the name hangers for the BM and thinking of getting a monogramed piece of jewelry for them. My BM are picking different dresses in the same color so I will likely not buy them jewelry for the wedding itself.

I have not included that as part of my overall wedding budget. As far as the parent gifts. My parents are both deceased and he has 6 parents (long story) lol. Either way we are paying for the wedding ourselves so I probably won't get them anything.

I am planing on giving the BM gifts during the RH or the week before the wedding.

gift questions! - Long Island Weddings

I havent purchased anything but I have done a lot of brainstorming and planning for the gifts.

I plan to get the bridesmaids:
A small occasion purse for the night; a high end lip gloss (mac, sephora, etc.); day of jewelry; personalized hanger and maybe shirt for getting ready: Depending on what each item ends up costing, I may edit this list. I plan on spending about $100 each.

For the groomsmen:
A 6 pack sized cooler, 6 pack of beer, golf tees, golf balls, golfing voucher for morning of the wedding. Again, this will be edited but we anticipate spending about $100 each.

I do not know what we will get our parents. This is a huge source of distress for me because it is very important to get especially my parents something special, because they are helping out for the wedding tremendously, but I dont know what will be financially possible in the end.

I plan on buying these things probably after the 6 month mark, simply because some of the items are pending on other details (cant pick the jewelry until I know the girls dresses). If I could have picked things up along the way I totally would have.

gift questions! - Long Island Weddings

Got all girls including myself and both moms a Swarovski necklace (Kohls) that everyone will wear at the wedding.

All girls including myself and both moms a personalized totebag.

Robes to get ready in (theknot.com) for all the girls and his sisters who will also get ready with us but aren't in the party)

My dad is getting a frame from etsy (thesugaredplums) it's ordered takes 4 weeks

My mom the lenox mother of the bride statue

His parents we bought a personalize thank you plate from etsy (customsepia)

All guys, including his dad and my brother who's not in the party... Ordered custom football and hockey jerseys.

And embroidered hankies for all parents

I think that's it. We prob spend around $250 on each person in the bridal party and around $350-$400 on each of the parents. My parents are paying for the entire wedding and his parents are helping quite a lot by paying for limos and the rehearsal dinner. So we felt the need to get them all nice gifts.

Okay, so I just sent a FM to someone with everything I got and all the links so I'll just copy it on here.. sorry if it's long haha.. these are the links for the girls gifts and the parent gifts

Bridesmaid Gifts:

1. Tote Bags with monograms- 8 for $52!
https://www.etsy.com/transaction/146773172?ref=fb2_tnx_title
If you look at the big of the bag with the groceries in it, I am doing the lettering like that. I'm doing charcoal gray tote bags with lavender monograms and purple names

2. Monogrammed oxford shirts to get ready in
https://www.etsy.com/transaction/145893172?ref=fb2_tnx_title
They were $150 for 9 (one for me, 8 BMs) of them, so they came out to like $16 each which was the cheapest out there. The woman was so helpful, and even put a free gift in there for me with a really sweet handwritten thank you. She gave me a white cosmetic case with my new monogram on it :)

3. Hangers with girls names
https://www.etsy.com/transaction/145062905?ref=fb2_tnx_title
She is a popular etsy vendor. The hangers were beautiful, they just took awhile because she has a high volume of orders

4. Braclets- Swarvski pearls
https://www.etsy.com/transaction/129498312?ref=fb2_tnx_title
You can see a pic of the ones I got in the 2nd pic... loved this company because all proceeds get donated to breast cancer

5. Pearl earrings to match the bracelets
https://www.etsy.com/transaction/129256258?ref=fb2_tnx_title
If you go with pearls like the ones here and in the bracelet, just make sure they are the same. Both the bracelet and the earrings were swarovski pearls so I knew they would be the same color gray

6. Cosmetic Cases
http://www.etsy.com/listing/92015684/lace-amethyst-ivory-cosmetic-bag?ref=related-5
this is what the bag looked like.. for 8 of them is was $64

And I will put makeup inside- in total I paid around 60-something each

Parent Gifts:

https://img1.etsystatic.com/009/0/6137777/il_570xN.444685905_c5op.jpg

and we will be getting $50 shutterfly gift cards for albums as well

Oh, and for the groomsmen, we got Jos. A Bank toiletry cases that open up and can hang on a door or something for vacations, and are getting cufflinks I think

gift questions! - Long Island Weddings

I'm spending about $100 per BM and $75 per GM. For my MOH, she's my cousin and my best friend so I'm spending a bit more on her and getting us tickets to see Motown after the wedding. I just saw it and it was amazing - she really wants to go and she's been such a big help so I don't see the harm in spending the money as long as I have it.
