gift registering question..

gift registering question..

How do your guests know where you are registered for gifts?

What is ettiquette?

We received an invite not long ago for a wedding and included in the invite was a seperate piece of paper with the list of all the places the couple was registered.

I personally thought it was tacky as well as took away from the beautiful invite... Kinda is a reminder that ' you are invited and here.. buy us a gift'.

But how else would the guests know where to go ?

The proper way for guests to find out is word of mouth. Your parents and FIL's could spread the word when asked. Or you could set up a wedding website and post it on there. Since all of our guests are OOT, we set up a website where they can find travel info, activities and links to our registries.

Yea- that's what I've heard too- usually when your shower invites are sent there is a card in there- but definately not with the wedding invitation

most of the time the info goes into the shower invitation, not the wedding one

People will ask. Don't worry.

I agree it's tacky to include it in a wedding invitation. My mom didn't even put it in my shower invites - everyone just asked.

In my experience, people usually assume. I think the majority of brides will go with

BB&B/Macy's/Fortunoff

However, as was said before, usually it will go into the shower invite.

After being in and going to so many weddings, thats usually the first place I start off. I had one wedding which I was friends of the groos so I wasn't invited to the shower so I checked BB&B and there they were :)

I put it in the wedding invitation, listed with the directions and Hotel info. I guess I'm tacky and improper.

we posted ours on our wedding website. I think it is tacky to include the info in your invitations. Usually the BM's include the info along with the shower invites. People tend to ask for the info as well.
