Gift Registries

Gift Registries

Well, I'm finally settling into being engaged. I really didn't think much about the value of the period between him asking me to marry me and the wedding. Now, I'm beginning to understand how important this time is for us to grow together as a couple.

Now, here's my wedding question: Is there a computer tool or service that would allow me to list items from stored that don't have a registry (and show my guests if the item has already been purchased)? For example, I'd like to include items from a very special cooking spice shop on my list -- but they don't have a gift registry. BTW, I've seen those services that give guests the option of purchasing a gift card -- and I don't want to do that.

The only thing I can think of is to have a wedding website and create a registry section. In that section, have links to the exact item you want. And once you receive the item, you can delete the link from your website.

Or you can have something like a 'wish list' which is a list of items you want but aren't registered for.

Another option is word of mouth. You can have your bridal party or parents tell their friends about a few gifts you want (don't tell the same gift to everyone otherwise you'll get duplicates).

I wouldn't be surprised if there is something like that... they have honeymoon registry sites that are specialized by you for any type of hm...

Why don't you make a list of what you want & have your mom pass out the info.

Hello Date Twin!!

I'm not sure how you would do that. Does the store have a website? Or can they give you business cards to send with invitations and people can call to see what is on your list?

Maybe just opening up a wedding registry at myregistry.com would make things easy for you. You can add gifts from any store (if they have a registry or not). Your guests and you can self mark them as purchased. Why re-invent the wheel when they have stuff out there already that's easy to use. My husband and I had no problems with and neither have my guests so far.

There's other sites like this too but I liked this one the best.
