gift suggestion?

gift suggestion?

we were invited to a destination wedding...that we are unfortunately not able to go to...my question is...what should we do about the gift?

should we give the same amount that they gave us (they attended our wedding)?

we are in the process of moving and money is going to be a little tight (thats why we are not going)

I'm not really sure about the amount, but you should definetely send a gift. I would probably give what they gave you.

we are definitely sending a gift...just confused about what amount...I think what they gave us...but DH thinks less because we are not going...

If funds were permitting, I would give the same amount they gave you. You are already paying less by not attending the destination wedding.

We were in a similar position when we were invited to a wedding in SC about a year ago that we were unable to attend and we ended up giving a larger gift since we didnt have the travel expense.

Since I am of the mentality that a wedding gift should not be a repayment for dinner at the wedding, I feel it would be most appropriate to give a gift similar to what they gave you. (Assuming you are financially able, if not, as much as you can do would surely be appreciated.)
