Gift suggestons for a 1 year old.

My friends' daughter is turning 1 a couple of weeks. what would be a good gift for a one year old?

I think I would go the doll route. Maybe something like Madeline or Dora - something that has a book that can be read along - or that cute Olivia pig...she has a bunch of books!

Elmo is great too. I bought the Chicken Dance Elmo and some Elmo videos for my friends son's first birthday. She told me he gets such a kick out of the Chicken Dance Elmo.

ride on toy. If they cannot walk yet you can get one they can walk behind and push it first.

The leap pad learning table is a big hit in my house!
I also agree with the dancing elmo dolls and ride-on toys.

we got our friends daugther this shopping cart - she loves it and its helping her to stand up and push it a litlle - the preces inside bounce out as it rolls which puzzles her but its so cute to watch...forget which brand it was but i think either first years, lil tykes or maybe even fisher price!!
