Re: Gifts before Wedding
Someone who had initally responded Yes, just called my parents last week & said they are unable to attend. She sent us a wedding card with a check. I called her personally to thank her. Will also be sending a thank you card after the wedding.

Re: Gifts before Wedding
i have gotten checks and i was going to wait til after the wedding. lately though ive been feeling guilty bc some of those were sent right when the invites went out and now its been awhile. I might just send the thank yous now if I can find time to write them!

Re: Gifts before Wedding
I think technically you have 6 months (or maybe even a year) to send a thank you card for a gift. Guests also have 6 months or a year after your wedding date to send you a gift. I havent found this documented but I was told by a coworker who was recently married.

Would you send a simple Thank You card now and then a nice one, like a photo one, after the wedding? I feel bad making them wait, but then I feel silly not sending the 'nice' thank you card.
Hmm.. Maybe I'll make a few Thank You cards with one of our E-pics. What do you all think?

Re: Gifts before Wedding
We wrote out all our thank you cards to people who gave us gifts prior to the wedding. The morning of the wedding, we mailed out those thank you cards...it saved us a lot of time after the wedding!

ugh thats what im not sure about. it seems silly to do 2 thank you cards. i guess i will just do simple cards and they dont need to get the nice one with the pictures.

I sent mine when I received the gifts.
But I am not into photo thank yous, so I will be sending everyone the same, non photo, thank yous.

Re: Gifts before Wedding
i sent out thank yous as soon as i received gifts. i didn't want to forget about it and i didn't want people to think i forgot if i ended up waiting till after my shower or after my wedding. i just think its better to get it out of the way as soon as possible to save yourself time and stress later on.

Re: Gifts before Wedding
I received a check from my dad's cousin. I asked him to call them and let them know we received it and are gracious but are waiting until after the wedding to send all thank-you's so we can send them a picture.
