Gifts for FH

I have heard that on the wedding day, the bride is suppose to give a gift to their FH. Has anyone thought of this?

At the RD I gave DH a card and inside it was a picture of the grill (BBQ) I'm going to get him once we're together in NC (maybe next week!). He loved it! (And will love it once we get it, too!)

I think its bullshyt - just another way to capitalize on wedding business. The honeymoon is our gift to both of us from us and so is the wedding. Who knows I may change my mind though as I have a million times already

i def want to get fh something since he is paying for most of the wedding. i really dont know what yet tho. i saw from red envelope they had a silver frog price figurine that comes in red velvet bag, i was thinking of maybe getting him something like that and writing him a nice letter with it. Its not something very useful, but i think its something he would always keep.

I am looking into something inexpensive or even free.. going more for sentimental. Otherwise, the honeymoon is our gift to each other!

We are paying for the wedding ourselves so our Honeymoon is our gift to each other and after the wedding we are getting a new car finally i'm tired of my old one!! But i want to surprise him and fly us first class depending on the price

I bought him a nice watch as an engagement gift.

Although I am already dropping little hints for what I want as my wedding gift from him!

I bought FH a Movado and already gave it to him - it is his MA gradutaion and wedding gift.

i personally think this buying FH a wedding gift is just another way for businesses to make extra money. we are already paying for so much stuff that another gift is not necessary.

the only extra thing i am spending money of is a grooms cake at the RD. which is honestly not even extra because you would serve cake anyone. other then that i am buying his wedding band which costs $1500. i think thats more then enough.

i am getting FH an awesome watch that he wanted...by december I should be making the final payment.

Everytime I tell him we shouldn't do gifts he laughs at me... he loves gifts

I def want to get him something because he is paying for the whole wedding himself. He doesnt want me to put anything towards it. Im worrying about my dress hair and makeup thats all :)

We had decided not to do gifts to each other. However, FH is paying for most of our wedding as well. This may be a nice idea.
