Gifts for Parents???
I tried to do a search for ideas for presents for our parents but cannot find anything. I didn't even know we were supposed to get them gifts. Does anyone have any ideas? What type of gifts should it be? We are getting married in less than 2 weeks so I need to get something quick!! Thanks!

check out www.exclusivelyweddings.com they have alot of good ideas, one idea is a hankie embroidered saying mother, to dry your tears as you have always dried mine. It's like $12 or something.

Gifts for Parents???
I am going to buy our parents something while we are on our honeymoon. It`s just easier for us because we have no idea of what to get them either. I figured we will just get the mothers jewelery while we are on our honeymoon and we will figure something to get my soon to be father-in-law there too.

Gifts for Parents???
Yeah, I'm still confused over this too...why is this on the list of things to do? Especially if neither set of parents is contributing anything to the wedding? Is this just something nice like Mother's/Father's day? I don't mean to sound insensitive because I love all our parents, but I just don't understand why we are supposed to buy them gifts???

I didn't know that we needed to get them something. I have said thank you more time in the last 6 mos. than I've said in my life, and they know I'm very greatful. Is this a 'wedding must'. And is it only for my parents? The honeymoon gift sounds good.

I'd like to get them something but not sure what. My friend gave her parents two plane tickets to Ireland. I thought this was extreme, but she said she had to because her sister sent them on a cruise!

It's traditional to give your parents a meaningful gift - just as it is traditional to give a gift to the other wedding party members. If your parents are anything like mine they really dont 'need' anyting and as my Mom likes to say 'dosen't want any more dust collectors' I am going to either give them a framed family photo taken on our wedding day (they dont want a parents album that will sit in a drawer). Or we will look for something unique on our honeymoon in Italy.

I think a photo/frame after the wedding is over is a nice gift -- maybe present the frame at the rehersal dinner?

Although they are not ready yet, I had the photographer make up a photo of us on our wedding day and for each of the sets of parents framed our picture next to theirs. It's been 9 months and they're not done yet but i'm still hopeful.
