Gifts for parents

What is everyone getting their parents for the wedding? We are paying for our own wedding but we feel funny not getting them something.

Re: Gifts for parents

We got our parents hankies with poems on them. They loved them and they came in handy at the ceremony.

Re: Gifts for parents

We also got our parents hankies with a poem attached. We did not buy them off the internet. Each hankie comes with an ornamenant (sp?) attached (mother's have a heart charm attached to theirs and father's have an angel pin attached to theirs).

Re: Gifts for parents

I brought them in a little local store in Malverne (where FI lives). They were not that expensive. They were only $10 each. They also make ones for MOH (which I brought for my MOH), Matron OH, Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. If you want the information of the store, send me a forum e-mail.

Re: Gifts for parents

My parents are pretty much paying for our entire wedding so I have been trying to figure out a nice and unique gift beyond picture frames etc. So I decdied to get the the wine of the month club. They both love wine so i think they will like it! I think what I am going to do is buy one of those wine journals that let you log the wine you buy and note its taste, etc. Then I will put a note/certificate about their club membership in the journal.

Re: Gifts for parents

We might get them gift certificates to their favorite restaurants. Our parents are paying for the wedding so of course I'd love to get them something, but I know that they would not want us to spend a lot of money on them. I'm not sure what to get.

Re: Gifts for parents

Metphan, I'm doing the same as you - gift certificate to a very nice restaurant for the parents - I think that they would appreciate that more than something else, but it really depends on the person I guess.
