gifts from e-party...when to open?

with all of this talk about e-party gifts, i started wondering when you should open the ones you receive. my cousin opened hers at the e-party, but now i'm concerned that if someone doesn't bring one they will feel weird if we started opening gifts.

ladies who have had their e-party -- what did you do?

We had a table set aside to place all the gifts on at the party. We didn't open anything till we got home.

We opened ours the next morning.
We did not want to embarrass the people who did not bring gifts.
I told my friends/family not to bring gifts and some did anyway.

We mostly got cards with gift cards or cash so there wasn't much to open in front of people. Plus I don't think the guests really wanted sit there and watch us.

We didn't open gifts at our party....but 98% of our gifts were checks

This is a good question! Opened at home. Mostly cash, few gifts. I don't feel its appropriate, but that's jmo. Unlike a shower or a bday party where gifts are part of it!

Definitely don't open gifts at the e-party. You will get a lot of $$ and don't want to sit there opening cards. Plus, lets face it - it gets kind of boring for the guests.

We opened ours the next day.

Definitely at home. I want to jump off the roof when people open their presents in front of me.

we opened them when we got home by ourselves....we didn't even wanna open them in front of our parents bc we didnt want comments

Party was at our house. I waited until most people were gone and opened with my family. FH was passed out. LOL

That's what we did as well. My parents and my future in-laws were there so all the dollar amounts were out in the open lol.

We arent having an enagement party ... just doing a family BBQ but I wouldnt open it in front of my guests. Seems it would be a little uncomfy if some didnt bring gifts!
