Is it common for a parent who is contributing money to the wedding to also give a gift to the couple (in this case the parents can afford it)? Thanks!

Re: gifts from parents
I believe so. In all cases I have known, the parents have bought things for the couple even though they were paying a large part of the wedding. Though I am honestly not expecting my father to do that...

Re: gifts from parents
my parent's paid for our wedding and also gave us gifts. My mother gave us all of our china and my dad gave us a very nice monetary gift.

Re: gifts from parents
I find this as kind of an odd question especially if it is a gift from people not a gift from you?
I would never expect a gift from my parnets or from FIL's after contributing
what else could We want
together they got us a generous engagement gift IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY CAN AFFORD IT OR NOT
