is anyone using the gifts they receive prior to your wedding from your registry??

our spare bedroom is filled with gifts from our engagement and keep in mind my shower is not until the end of march. My FH wants to use all of our gifts and i keep telling him its bad luck not until we are married..

anyone else going thru this?

FH and I are not fully living together, so we are not using anything as of yet...I think we are going to wait to use our gifts until we buy a house (pure torture).

Well I'll tell you one thing... if the gift I receive is money... you better believe that I'll be using it before the wedding! hahahaha

THAT's what I don't get. Apparently it is OK to spend the money but nothing else? Silly superstitions!

i think if its for the e-party or bridal shower, you can use before the wedding.
if it's a wedding gift that was mailed prior to the wedding, you should wait until after.

Yep we had to put our gifts away after the shower...so we did just that and used them. Maybe if you are moving into a new place right after it makes sense to wait...but if not then go right ahead!

I think the whole bad luck is silly, too many silly wedding superstitions that have no basis. If your moving to anew house after the wedding I can see saving it, but if you aren't even in the process of buying a house than that's silly. I can see if you 2 live separate. I had the shower last weekend and have been setting things up all week! The wedding is in 2 weeks.
