Gilrs getting their cakes from their RH

When do we start discussing that with our RH? Is it when we do the menu? I was just thinking about this tonight and started freaking bc I don't know how long this takes...

Anyone know?

Hey, I am getting mine from the WM, and we discussed it when I did my menue (about 2 mo's before the wedding) HTH!

I called the RH and they said I could speak to the bakery when I wanted too. I tried to make an appt. but I missed the woman and have to call back, been busy.
See if you can talk with the bakery, it might help you.

my RH said they discuss the cake 6-8 weeks prior

We're doing ours 4 months ahead of time...but we're doing the planning from out of town and it's the only time when we'll both be on LI before the week of the wedding.

we have a food tasting scheduled in may, so we'll probably decide on the flavors and stuff then. however, i'm still trying to decide on a design!

when you pick your menu - make sure you kind have a sense of what you want. Pictures are great to hand them.

Our RH said we make the appt. when we want to. Our wedding is in Sept and we already met w/ the bakery of our choice. We upgraded our cake because fh saw a cake and loved it. I think I am the only bride that did not pick her cake

We wanted something very specific, so we called the RH several weeks ago to see if it was possible. Call your RH and ask when they want you to come in and start planning the menu.

I went straight to Dortoni's and tasted cakes, fillingas and icings and placed my order with the bakery. I am going to inform my RH, which is also JT, and let the bakery handle it.
