Giorgio's

Giorgio's

I was just wondering if anyone had or is having their wedding there and lives in Nassau County?

99% of my family is from Nassau County and I'm wondering if this will be to far for my guest to travel.

FH family is from Suffolk so it's about a 1/2 ride for them but did anyone book their RH there and live in Nassau? If so, did your guest say anything about the far drive?

I know there's hotel rooms that I can book but from reading on here it looks like some of the hotels out there are pricey.

dont know what time of year you're looking for, but the prices for the hotels i got were totally great- 119 a room, including free shuttle to and from the reception...can't beat that..

I'm having my wedding at Vineyards, and a lot of my family is from Nassau and Queens, and we also have a lot of out of state guests. We are getting a block of rooms at the Hilton. My aunt that lives in Nassau wants to get a room that night, prob more for the fun of it than the hassle of driving so far so late.
Check out the hotels out there, I just went on Friday. It depends on the time of year how much they are, but by getting a block you save your guests about $50 a night on average. I can FM the info I got to you if you like.

This probably won't answer your question completely but just wanted to let you know I was a Giorgio's bride and we had people coming from Nassau. Also, coming from Suffolk we've attended one in Woodbury and one in Elmont (both Nassau). We did block rooms for our wedding but no one booked except MIL.

It's not about the distance, IMO. But then of course you may have a cranky aunt like me who complains about everything including a 30 minute drive.

I'm getting married there next November and though we aren't in Nassau, we're close enough for it to be a decent way away. If you ask me, the place is gorgeous, the food is great, and the whole atmosphere is totally worth the few extra minutes drive. The hotels out there can be pricey, but you get a better deal when you book with Giorgio's for a few of the hotels out there and free shuttle. We have family coming from Nassau and it doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone so far.

If you love it I would just have it there. Because who ever will want to be there for you will make the trip don't worry

Im going to a wedding there on Friday and the bride and groom are both from Nassau....the ceremony is at a church in nassau as well .. it is a little far but all the friends and I would assume the family are staying in hotels... the hotel we booked at was the indigo (used to be best western) and was 200 per night but we just spilt it with some good friends who are going as well ...hope this helps!! I can post a mini review after the wedding and let you know how it turns out if you would like FM me!

I'm having my wedding there and I live in Nassau. Most of my friends/family are from all over and it hasn't seemed to matter at all! If you love it, you should book it! People will come to your wedding no matter what... they are sharing your special day with you! Plus, if they want to go home they can, but you can also have a hotel in case they want to stay.

Simple answer is do what your gut tells you to do. We looked ALL over the island and this was the last place we saw and fell in love. Follow your heart and remember that you only do this once if your lifetime!!

Also, you can offset the price of the hotel room if you would like. We are going to add $50 to each hotel room to make it easier for our guests' pockets...

I had my wedding there in the afternoon. I live in Nassau County and we have family in Queens and a few people came from Staten Island, BK and NJ. Was it convenient? No. The only people that said something were our mothers and no one else complained lol. People will come no matter what. What people DID comment about was that they saw why we picked the place (after the wedding was over).

My block was at the Holiday Inn Express and rates were 119 for a standard and 139 for a suite. Breakfast and shuttle transportation is included.

Wow - you got a good deal on the hotel! They quoted me $219!! Maybe it's the time of year? My wedding is in September...

Which hotel was this? I'm loving the idea of the free shuttle back to the hotel.

That would be GREAT if you could post a little mini review. I know they re-designed the grounds and the pictures I've seen are beautiful.

Thanks a million :)

Originally I wanted to look at Majestic Gardens and that's in Rocky Point & of course my Mom was like that's a little far BUT wait till I tell her about Baiting Hollow, LOL

I agree the place is beautiful and I'm more worried about my Grandparents but I guess they would catch a ride with someone else to go home.
