Hi All, I figured it might be helpful to create one thread for everyone to list suggestions regarding photographers, officiants, florists, food tasting, hotels, shuttles, rehearsal dinners and any other info that goes into having a wedding at Giorgio's since we are all getting married at Giorgio's!

Re: Giorgio's Brides 2012
anyone having your ceremony on site know if we are able to have an actual rehearsal of the ceremony the day or night before the wedding at Giorgios?

Crashing - 2011 here.... to answer your question.... they do not allow a rehersal the night before - as usually there is a wedding. However, if you are getting married on a Friday, perhaps you can speak to George Jr.
If you girls need any suggestions of vendors - please let me know

Hi Marie!
You should come say hi on the 2012 Brides board (scroll down on the frontpage to find it... the link is a few below 'Brides Helping Brides' -- or click here: 2012 Brides). Add yourself to the 2012 brides list (link)... we have 8 other girls getting married at Giorgio's so far
wow thats so many! i feel like there aren't many of us in 2011.

for the 2011 brides - do you have recos on dj's and florists? those are my next to tackle on my to do list but wanted to get ideas from other brides that have already had weddings at giorgio's.
for the ladies getting married on-site, i'm meeting with an officiant in a month that my friends have used. not exactly sure what happens at that meeting but will let you guys know how it goes.

I haven't gotten married at Giorgio's yet, however I am using Sugar Magnolias for my flowers. Heidi is the sweetest, and she is honest. If you meet with her, she will tell you that tall center pieces are not necessary in Giorgio's because of the lower celing. I think she doesn't need to do this because in the end she'd make more money on the taller pieces. Additionally, she made a mockup centerpiece for me, and it was incredible. I highly reccommend her.
As for a DJ, I'm sorry, but I won't be any help here... I'm using a band. You should check with George Jr. because I know that Giogio's installed uplighting and there was something about only having the house vender use it - perhaps I'm wrong, but you want to ask about the uplighing if you are going to be using it.

thanks so much, will definitely check out sugar magnolia's.
i went to the bridal show last month and know that they have that house vendor deal with the uplighting but really was not into the dj that did a performance there. the other vendor i still need to meet with.
appreciate the tips!

this is true, if you want to have uplighting in the room you will need to go with Absolute Entertainment or LI Sound for your DJ. We have seen them both at showcases and they are both great. I think we are going to book LI Sound.

Hey, I was not told that about the uplighting, all I was told was that they had to be insured, I hope that's not the case, I'll have to contact them!

i went with two non-vendors for my flowers and entertainment. For flowers I'm using Flower Michele (love them!) and for band I'm using a Philly-based cover band called Joe Bachman and the Crew. Let me know if you need any other recos ... i'm almost done with my planning!

I am sorry, I should have worded this differently. I think its If you want to use Giorgio's built in uplighting, LI Sound and Absolute are the only two vendors that can use it. I am not sure about getting your own lighting through a different company.

Florist - Sugar Magnolias (she is Giorgio's perferred) DJ - Long Island Sound (also Giorgio's preferred) If you like the uplighting....book it through Giorgio's and Long Island Sound can use it. Not all companies can do uplighting at Giorgio's. Only LI Sound and Absolute I think.

You cannot bring in other uplighting. It will not work. The giorgio's is already built into the wall and no other uplighting can be placed in front of it. If you have already contracted someone else...call George Jr. and talk to him about it.
