Giorgio's Brides

Any Giorgio's brides have information on what we need to do for our cake? Do we just call the bakery and let them know we are getting married at Giorgio's to set up a tasting?

Past brides: What were the choices that were included like? If you upgraded was it expensive? TIA

I got married at Giorgio's in September and for the cake you will need to go to the baker directly. I didn't bother doing a tasting because it was included with the hall so I wasn't going to go pay some place else thousands of dollars for something I was technically paying for already. The only thing I didn't like is there are only about 6 styles to choice from as the standard cake and to me they were very outdated. We upgraded and had the whole thing customized and in my opinion it was not that much more expensive. We paid an extra $450 to change the entire thing. I have to say I LOVED the way my cake came out. It was beautiful and delicious.

Hope this helps. If you want more info feel free to FM me. I think I have a pic of my cake in my album too.

Re: Giorgio's Brides

I am getting married at Giorgos in 12 days. I called the bakery in port jeff, told them we were getting married at Giorgios and would like to set up an appt to have a tasting. We went there one weekend we sat in the back corner of their bakery and they gave us slices of cake (chocolate & vanilla) a long with little cups of their fillings (chocolate pudding, vanilla pudding, lemon, strawberry and coffee). I don't think the tasting is needed as is it all standard flavors but I really wanted to do it because it was something I wanted ro do since we got engaged!

I agree that the standard cake design are kind of outdated but I didn't see the point of spending an extra dollar on something that will be cut up in a few hours. I picked one that I thought was ok (the square cake) and asked them to take the bog bows off the layers and just leave the band around the layers (you will understand what I mean once you see the cakes). I asked my florist to bring extra flowers to place on the cake instead.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for this info ladies!! I have a pic of what I'd like for my cake, but I agree, it may not be worth the extra cost.

Did any flavors besides vanilla and chocolate cake come included, or are they all upgrades?
