My FH and I are getting married at Giorgio's next June. We were sold on the outdoor cocktail hour but have just been told that it would cost us $2000 extra... months after we negotiated the price. :(
Has anyone else encounter this? What did you do?

Did they lead you to believe outdoor CH was included? If so I would complain. Also what would they do if it rained and you couldn't utilize the outside? Reimburse you $2000? $2,000 sounds like way too much for one hr

I am confused also. When I booked them I can swear that they said I could have the CH outside. They did not say anything about an additional cost and I don't see that in my contract. However, I never really asked further questions because I am getting married in July and did not want to have the food put outside in case it is too hot. I figured guess can always mingle outside anyway. There's also more seating inside which is important. I went to a wedding where guests had no seats and it was a pain...

OK, i know this is an old post, but figured I'd try to help...
If you want your ENTIRE CH outside (like chafing dishes, carving stations, potato bar, cheese platter, sushi, EVERYTHING outside), then you have to pay to have it outside... Otherwise it will be indoor/outdoor CH and you have passed hors d'oveurs inside and outside and you can pay an extra like $500 or something to have an extra bartender outside. The reason they charge you to have everything outside is because they need to rent a tent to make sure that stuff doesn't go bad and then also they charge labor for that.
I'm definitely not going it... i saw where they set up the tent and it totally blocks the view of the golf course. I think an indoor/outdoor CH will be fine... guests will know to go outside.

I agree...I am at giorgio's too and I like that the food is inside, especially if it is hot and everyone can stay cool. Going outside will be nice for pictures and for sitting and eating!

I loved the idea of having the CH outside but they told us up front the extra cost and why. That being said, they told us that guests are certainly welcome to bring out their drinks and food outside to mingle so we're going to let the guests decide. Being that the CH is only an hour or an hour and a half, we didn't think its worth the extra money. We may pay for the additional bar-tender but even that we're not sure if its worth it.

yea, we're going to get the extra bartender too... i think it's totally worth it.. the bar out there is beautiful!
