Giorgios vs East Wind

I am in the beginning stages of planning but am very interested in both Giorgios at Fox Hill and East Wind Caterers. Both are close together & have two $$ on theknot. I was hoping for some opinions (pros, cons, preferences,) on both & importantly PRICES! Any help will be appreciated

Giorgios vs East Wind - Long Island Weddings

I can't speak to the East Wind having never been there but my FH and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED giorgios. Would have booked there in a heartbeat if it wasn't so far out east. They had everything! Beautiful ballroom, vineyard property, beach access, fields of green, absolutely gorgeous! I looked there March '13 so I'm sure prices have changed but I'm pretty sure they were about $120++ for a friday in July.

Re: Giorgios vs East Wind

Have not been to Giorgios but I have heard great things!

We did visit East Wind when we were looking for a venue. We looked at the two rooms in the main building which have an all-inclusive package available as well as the Estate at East Wind (I think there are other room(s) too but we would have been too big of a party for it)

The Estate was my favorite out of the three. It is its own building and it was beautiful. I know that they mentioned during “peak” Apr-Oct it is a 200 person guarantee for a Saturday and with taxes etc it came to approx. $200/head

While we did really like the Estate at East Wind – we decided to go elsewhere and went with the Somerley at Fox Hollow :)

Hope this helps!

Giorgios vs East Wind - Long Island Weddings

I didn't go to Giorgios because they quoted me $169pp for a Sunday night in October but I did go to east wind and it was very nice. They offer a great all inclusive package in the main house and in the cottage and estate but only those two in the winter months. The estate was gorgeous but too much $$ for us in-season.

Giorgios vs East Wind - Long Island Weddings

I was at both places recently for weddings - East Wind in February and Giorgios just last week.

Neither are my style, and Giorgios is a bit over the top with the fabric, and curtains and chandeliers and carpet. Cocktail hour food was fine, but the dinner (at least my chicken) was completely inedible. I also thought it was strange that the maitre'd stood on the staircase in the lobby and yelled out directions for the night? Kind of tacky.

East Wind is OK. Not much to rant or rave about, pretty decent.

Giorgios vs East Wind - Long Island Weddings

Looked at Giorgio's, it was close to where my grandparents had a summer bungalow and it appealed to me, but the pics of all the fabric and chandeliers and stuff was too over the top for my taste as I like comfortable, practical and welcoming.

We went with East Wind, they had a Great package, and were still close by with all the things we were looking for.

You have to go with your style, comfort and finances for whatever you choose, good luck and enjoy the process.
