so im thinking about canceling the wedding or postponing it..not sure yet...(posted previously bcoz of the financial problems) how does that work with the vendors and halls...i mean do they keep the deposit...do they give money bak ??/ please help!!!!

not sure if you can get your money back but i am sure they will honor your deposits if you push back the date...

oo im sorry you have to do that, that stinks!
check your contracts, i noticed vendors are different. If you postpone you probably wouldnt have a problem just moving the day with your vendor but if you cancel im sure they would keep at least some of it. your contracts will say under cancellation policy.

If your vendors are awesome, just push back the wedding a year or so- that way you can keep them locked in and all your payments will be fine.

I am sure that they will just move your deposit to another date ... just make sure they dont up the price on you since they can tell you that is their busy season and its more expensive blah blah

read the contract. it differs from vendor to vendor and usually depends on how much notice you give them.

most vendors probably keep the deposit, or it may depend on how close you are to the wedding date. i know our rh said we would get a full refund if we cancelled up to 8 months before the wedding.

Oh so sorry. Read the contracts. I cancelled one of my vendors and I got a full refund including the deposit. But I agree, try and change the date. Best of luck

I was engaged a long time ago but cancelled due to the fact he had an evil twin. Anyway~ East Wind gave me full deposit back as long as they sold the date which was sold in about two weeks. Photographer held my deposit and put it towards this wedding. Dj gave me my full deposit back. It's smart that you are doing what is the best for you guys!! If you change the date to a later one they might just transfer all your deposits over.
