How did you go about playing the music? I was told I had to use their musician and I may not get to pick my own music for the march. What about you?

We don't have to use their musician... but I have to pay them even if we don't use them.
She told me to look online for a CD that's something like 'Best Wedding Songs' or something like that, and we're allowed to choose any songs from that CD.

They gave us a music selection sheet. But they want the BMs and bride to walk to the same music, which I don't like.

I could use whoever I wanted, because the musicians are paid separately from the church fee.... our family friends are playing a string quartet for us... so I am giving them all the songs I want.

I wonder if we are getting married at the same church! I have the same issue - we have to pay, but hired our own musicians (a classical string quartet)

Same here. We have a classical guitarist and flutist doing our ceremony music, but our church requires that we pay the musician fee as part of our donation.

Re: Girls getting married in Catholic Church
We're using the church musicians and we were able to pick the music for the bp, bridal walk, different parts of the mass and the recessional. They gave us 4 choices for each part of the ceremony to pick from but if we wanted to request other music we could do that as long as it was catholic/religious music. They even had a night where you could go to the church and hear the musicians play each song so that you could hear everything and pick what you wanted.

i also got a music sheet with the same thing on it... the organist just called me the other day and was like 'dont you want to walk into something different? how come you didnt list 2 songs?' so i would just make a note on your sheet that you want 2 songs, 1 for them and 1 for you.

Good to know, I was actually going to do this anyhow and see what happens. Glad to know it will work.
