What time are you doing? i was thinking doing 5-11. I am scared people will leave early if it goes later. Any thoughts?

We're doing 6:30-midnight, I stay when I go to sunday weddings I feel like at that point who cares anymore you're already out, plus the next day after our wedding is MLK day so alot of people will have off from work

4:30 ceremony till 10 p.m. reception ends - a few people left at 9:30 but not many.

i was at a sunday night wedding recently and it definitely ended late around 11:30p. a substantial amount of guests left early because of work obligations the next morning. we took off the next day, but there were only about 10 people dancing at the end of the night.

Mine ended at 11:30 and yes some people left early but all close family and friends stayed and we partied like rock stars!

im having a sunday night wedding and its from 6-11
me too. honestly, i dont know many people that go to bed before 12 anyway. i've been to plenty of weddings on a sunday night and 90% of the people stayed til the end. but we're russian and love to party. i really dont care if people leave cause i know the most important people in my life will stay til they kick us out.

I had a sunday morning wedding and I have to be honest I wish I did a sunday night. People still left early even though my wedding was during the day. The people that really matter would have stayed until the end if I had a sunday night wedding. Also, I had a large BP and we had to get up at 4:30 so we can all get our hair done in time, and we were still late to the RH! I didn't get the pictures I wanted because we just ran out of time. If I had a later wedding that wouldn't have happened.

mine will be ceremony 11:30-12 ch 12-1 and reception 1-5 i will have an afterparty back at the hotel for anyone not going home. All of my guests are OOT so i wanted to make it easy for them. They can come in anytime saturday and leave after the reception if they need to get back to MA they will be home by 10ish.
i also didnt want people to leave early- just something to think about.

mine was 6:30- midnight. We had to have it on a Sunday because we are Jewish and wanted a summer wedding, and sundown is too late on Saturday nights. So, we are NOT morning people, so evening it was. People did start leaving at around 11:15, which did upset me a little. I was dancing and having fun and was sad when people were saying goodbye. There were people till the end too. BUT, I was just at a wedding on a Saturday night, and people were doing the exact same thing -- leaving shortly after the cake, so I wouldn't sweat it. There are people that will leave early no matter when you have it.

our cemoney is at 11:30 CH 12-1 Reception 1-5
gives the people who have to work next day plenty time to get home but those that have rsvp are going back to hotel for after party!! their choice.

Well I'm doing the Sunday night that falls before Labor Day. Even though most people have the following day off, I don't want the wedding going past 11.

yes, the whole gettin up super duper early isnt too appealing... not sure why people would leave early though... unless they had to drive a far distance... like i know Fh's aunt n uncle n cousins live in MD, but even so, i think they would stay till the end... that really stinks!

yea it was pretty annoying, we had a few people leave before their entree came out but I was told they had somewhere to go. Don't know, don't care, I had a blast.

We're also having a problem deciding. Well I think it was decided for us cuz we don't have a large amount of people and also we started looking too late (started looking this week for a late June 09 wedding) so our wedding will probably be Sunday as well 6:00-12:00. Hoping everybody comes and a lot of our closest friends and family will definitely stay till the end.
Really hope it'll work out and ppl don't decide to not show up at all cuz it's Friday. But my FH says whoever picks that as a reason not to come shouldn't be there in the first place :)

my wedding is from 6:30-12pm. my future husband and I wanted to have viennese hour from 12-1am, but it doesn't seem likely if everyone has to get up early the next day. It's so hard to decide bc you want the night to be as long as possible, but who can afford to throw money away on viennese if everyone leaves early!

Our church couldn't give us a time any earlier then 3:30 so our reception will probably end at 11. I know my family and closest friends will stay, I'm not worried!

i kinda feel like certain people have an excuse to leave early no matter which day it is. Friday - they're tired from working all day, Sunday they've gotta be up for work the next morning. Mine is on a Saturday night, but I still kinda feel like there may be some excuses floating around. lol. Like those who've gotta be up early for Church the next morning So who knows.
If you're concerned, have it end by 10:00. But some people are just the type who leave parties early no matter what, while others are NEVER ready for it to end. It depends on your crowd.

yeah i find that a lot of people will leave after the cake but your close fam and friends will stay to the very end.
i think they also offer 'sunday twilight' weddings i think that go from 4-9 or 5-10 at some places.
