Girls, HELP! Im having flower issues....

Im not all that into big froufrou flowers, but finally i picked out a gorgeous calla lilly theme and of course i fell in love with it.... but im not spending $9,000 on FLOWERS! yeah, you heard me. so i need help - anyone know some good, reputable florists that possibly have more reasonable prices??

Check out Expressions Floral Design, Trina is awesome. There are a couple of us 2005 girls that are using her I know Flaca is that is how I got her number.

As I tell all girls that ask this question, I used Louise at Copiague Florist. She has wonderful taste and really knows how to work with you. I booked her instantly, but, it also helps that I was in the same school as her son from age 5!

Calla Lillies are one of the more expensive flowers, you're not going to find them cheap. - but John @ Flowers Michele is very reasonable - and SO SO SO much FUN !!

I was on a strict budget as well and as my favorite flower is one of the pricier ones per stem (blue hydrangeas)I kept this in mind.

1. Decide exactly what you want. Better to get a quote for the exact same package from each florist so you can compare. For example, I have always known eactly what I wanted in my bo-kay. One florist quote me $55 and another $275 for the EXACT same bo-kay.

2. Low ball your budget and ask them what can they do for that price. You might have to add extras later.

3. Keep in mind that if they have a fancy shop with prime real-estate you are paying for that. This is why I am only dealing with owner/operated vendors who mostly work out of their homes or like my photographer has a shop in the basement of a building.

I found the following florists to be the best for the money:

Burton's (was booked on my date)
Trina from Expressions
LA Blossoms
Jenn Blossoms

I went with Trina but Laurie from LA had very good tips and ideas.

Try Burtons...I was going to go the Calla lily route and they gave me an amazing (compared to others) rate for it.

I feel your pain....such a gorgeous flower, why do they have to cost so much? Please let us know what happens!!
P.S. I think Burtons is an LIW vendor -- try clicking on vendors for contact info.

Yup, I'm so happy w/ Flower Michele so far!

CP's: We're having tall glass vases w/ 12 white calas and bear grass (approx. 18 table arrangements and another one for the card table w/ hanging candles);

ETA: yes, they're providing us w/ 2 votives on each table, since CLM provides 2 tapers per table.

BoK's: We have a very large bridal party - 9 girls and 8 guys. The girls will all have hot pink mini calas (i think like 30 calas per bo-k).
And I'm having peonies and calas. FM me if you want any more info. You should definitely meet w/ John...he's great!

I am using Flower Michele, but my estimate Laurie from LA Bloosom was much lower. She may be able to give you a better price. Have you thought about using a thinner vase for the callas so you son't need as many per table?

I'm starting to look for flowers now. Here's what I found:
Trina-very reasonable. She gave a quote via FM. I have an appt with her next week.
Flower Barn-very reasonable also.
Burton's: the most expensive of them all! I was shocked 'cause e/o always said how inexpensive they were!
Keyser's- cheapest of them all! And their flowers are beautiful. They're our local florist so we've gotten flowers from them before.

Haven't booked yet, though!

thats a good idea too! im just nervous abt it because i dont want to use any fillers or any other flowers in the actual vase. I want to use anna roses as a sort of collar around the top of the vase, but thats it. i may have to cut that out tho to bring down the price a bit. it just looked so different and pretty!!
what made you decide to go with Flower Michele over La Blossom?
