what are you giving away as a favor? i am going to be complete honest with you girls ... I HATE FAVORS haha ... i go to weddings, get the favor, open it up and laugh because usually its something that im never going to use! i dont want to spend a lot of money and have people open them and laugh (like i do) ... i wanted to do something cute and cheap (like put m&m's in our colors in little jars (o yea because our names are michelle and michael m and m) but my parents say i need to give something nice! what does that mean? help!
We're doing a candy buffet and that's also going to serve as the favor. We'll have it presented towards the end of the night and there will be the little chinese take out cartons for the guests to pack the candy in. I am getting a lot of old time candy and may do candy apples if i could find a good deal on them. I hate the ideas of favors that no one can use and me personally i'm not going to use anything in my home that has some one else name on it. So i figured anything edible would be good. And although not everyone eats candy, i will have an assortment of mints and gum and even sugarless candy for some people that i know are diabetics (like my mom and some of the older guests) so Everyone will be able to enjoy.

I think EVERYONE hates favors! LOL. I was originally going to do a donation, but decided to do photo favors...as the guests walk into the RH they have their pic taken...and get it by the end of the night in a pretty frame. I know I wouldn't mind getting that if I went to a wedding... lol

We are doing a donation to ASPCA ( they even provide the cards). We are going to attach them to small tulle bags filled with personalized m&m's. They are in the wedding colors and have our initials and our date on them. We are using bags in the wedding color with personalized ribbon my mom had made. They look cute. Will post pics when we finish them lol.
We are giving a donation. Over the years I have collected many favors from friends weddings that I never use...since I am studying to be a scientist I know how tight research funding is in this terrible economy...I am planning to put a scroll at each place setting explaining the donation with chocolates from Lake Champlain chocolates in Vermont where FH grew up (The chocolate is amazing!!)

Definitely with you on hating favors! Originally we were going to do a donation, but then we received a favor from another wedding that was so cute (mini flower grow pot) - so we're going to do that since we're kind of going for a garden theme.
