Girls, I need hugs....

Original post by ckgmwedding

I am so upset- its my wedding morning, at the rehersal dinner FH was supposed to include in his speech how much I had done for the wedding(BASICALLY EVERYTHING but pick up the tuxes) and he didn't even acknowledge me at all. I know its just emotional exhaustion from everything but I just lost it and went outside and was crying outside o my sister and close girlfriends. I looked like an *** as people keep walking by and wondering why the bride was crying and mad at FH.

The weather is horrible today in NY and our honeymoon to Jamaica is ruined due to hurricane Emily. MY TA is trying to get us in at St. Lucia but it will cost $3600 more- I don't even know where we would get that money so I am waiting for a decent hour to call her to see what we can do.

I feel like all my plans are falling apart and I have no control.

I am just so sad, tired and not even at all excited I am getting married today. I thought after a good nights sleep I would be better but I don't. I don't want to ruin this day for myself- HELP!!!!!

Re: Girls, I need hugs....

Did you ever see that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode where the weatherman keeps predicting rain, only to have perfectly sunny skies - he mispredicts the weather so he can play golf?

Well, from my apartment window I can see the sun peeking out - there will most likely be some scattered showers - but NOTHING like what the weatherman predicted earlier - he probably wants to play golf.

I'm so glad to hear that your HM is back on -you'll have a great time. I'm sorry that your FH didnt give his speech at the RD - men are. . . well, they're honestly not as smart or as 'in tune' as we are. I hope he gives the speech tonight and I'm sure he is truly very sorry for hurting you last night - I dont even know how men can do ANYTHING without us!

Have a FANTASTIC wedding day!!!!!!!

Thank you so much girls- I woke up today and was just so sad and the first one I wanted to talk to you was you guys. I am just very overwhelmed by this whole thing- I love being on the outskirts of attention AND at someone else's party if that makes sense. I also guess I had higher expectations from everyone- the same ones I put on myself. Not smart...
My FH did apologize last night- he didn't know how important that speech was to me. He thought since he told me it, that was enough. I was just really let down and hurt and feel like I looked like a retard crying at the rehearsal dinner. He is forgiven-

The best news of all is our honeymoon is back on! The storm shifted once again in the past hour- I know that is my grandpa up there looking out for me.

My friend Flo, who came from CA is headed over from my sister's to give me a massage- knowing that I have such wonderful friends, including you all, is really helping this morning. thanks from the bottom of my heart

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! JAMAICA HERE YOU COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya mon!

Re: Girls, I need hugs....

First of all....
Don't worry about the RD last night...unfortunately not all men are sensitive to our feelings and understand what we go through putting this wedding together by ourselves. Try and not let the weather bother you...so easy for me to say because I'm doing the sunshine day dance for myself...I know we would all feel the same way. Today WILL be beautiful! Think of being in that gown and all the planning you've put in to making today one of the best days of your lives...you're starting a new chapter in both your lives...You're becoming a wife! The HM situation stinks....hopefully your TA can get you in St. Lucia with not so high of an increase. You can always cancel it all together and just have a wonderful stay at a spa or B&B??? What's important is that you two are together and can relax (you especially) after all this planning and enjoy the fact that you are husband and wife. Make the trip to Jamaica another time...
Don't worry...you'll be beautiful!!!

ETA: Yeah!!! Just now read the entire post about the HM!!! Whoo hoo!!! Don't forget your sunblock!!!

SNAP OUT OF IT!!!! IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! Enjoy every last minute of it!!!!!!!! Life could be so much worse, you have everything to be happy about! As far the honeymoon, everything happens for a reason. And it always works out in the end.

Go make yourself beautiful and go marry your prince!

Oh Christine! I just got to the boards to read this!!!

Well, by now, the wedding is happening, and you are walking on clouds...

Everyone has said such wonderful things about the situation, they are all true.

Regardless of whether he thanked you publically, it is going to be so clear to everyone how much work went into the wedding, and WHO it came from. Men just don't get certain things...that is clear.

I can't wait to see pics, you are going to be so lovely!

Congrats!!!

And HAVE AN AMAZING HONEYMOON!
