ok none of my BM's are any help neither is my FH. Ive been tossing around the idea of favors. I wanted to do wine bottles with labels but I also wanted to do a donation in our guests names to st. judes children hospital. what do you guys think what should I do. I know thier about totally different from eachother, but im feel torn between the 2. is that stupied?

i feel the same...i am torn about donations or an actual favor...i love the donation idea esp bc so many ppl throw favors away.
however, i think ppl would use the wine more than they would a coaster or a candle, etc. i also worry that guests will be upset that they don't get an actual favor to leave with.
i think both are good ideas so go with ur gut ! are your families big wine drinkers? if not than maybe go with the donation...

you can get super cheap wine at trader joes and probably still have money left for a donation.

thats the thing everyone at the wedding are all wine drinkers and or just drinkers. LOL but they all have huge hearts with donations. We always donate clothes, food, money to different charities. So this is why I'm torn.

maybe the small one-glass bottle of wine with a poem about how the other part is doing to a donation. i am sure someone on this site is creative and can come up with a poem or something. idk. just a though.

if you didnt get your invites yet, i just came across this site -- i am not familiar with them - but i like the idea...and you can donate & have favors too!
I think getting the really small bottles of wine with a note attached about donating the rest is a great idea. That way you don't have to decide between the two

what if u get a few bottles and give them to say the matriarchs of each family..then leave the rest for a donation

i am in the same boat! i actually went to go look at favors already and saw ones i really like but than i also had the donation for st jude in mind. than after really thinking about this over and over i decided i should do the actual favor i liked only cause i think the guests would like to walk out with something and in a portuguese tradition wedding it would be a crime if i didnt have an actual favor for the guests to take home, lol! as selfish as this sounds, cause the donation would be an awesome thing to do and i know i feel terrible about it, but fh rather me having an actual favor to give to our guests too so that is what im doing! :) dont know if that helped you, hehe!
