How do you plan to deal with the high theft rate that happen with card boxes? Will you have a door to get to the cards or keep it solid so that people can't get in it but you have to break it open to get to the cards.
I was thinking that I would buy 'The Perfect Card Box,' but in an interest of saving money I am now thinking DIY. But 'The Perfect Card Box' has a lock. I am so concerned about this.

Re: Girls Making Card Boxes
I think i am going to slice the bottom open the next day. It would be nice to not ruin it or anything but honestly what would I even do with it after the fact?? so I don't mind slicing the bottom open. I think with a cardbox it's least likely to get stolen....depending on how big you make it.. it would be obvious! ha ha! but I do hear these horror stories!

Personally.. the ones you buy are really nice.. but sooo expensive..and it's kinda a waste of money in my eyes. I think you can find the one you like a lot and replicate it as a DIY project. It should save you money.

Not sure I can replicate this.
But the cake ones are pretty. Unless i can find another fun idea. My friend had a sandcastle so I don't want to do that, but its a cool idea for the most creative DIYers.

Hey... maybe you can. Check out shadow boxes and picture collages. Then from home depot you can buy some wood and also crown molding for the top and the bottom. Nails, wood glue, paint, and a hole in the top to put the cards in.... that's all you need.
So is that the one you want? Or do you want a different one?
Check out forthemodernbride.com to see some pics. And also do some google searches.

I haven't found a cheaper one, thats the problem. But I like that it opens and has a lock.
