We have been expecting it for some time now. I just feel absolutely horrible for my dad - it's his mom - how is he going to be happy at wedding events? She's been sick for a while and this is the best thing for her and everyone - she is at peace - but my grandpa, aunt and dad are of course going to feel it the most and it makes me so upset that it has happened at what is supposed to be such a a happy time.
In between the phone calls with my mom, I spoke to my hair salon -- my hair stylist, who I've been seeing for over 10 years and know pretty well, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Please pray for my family, that we are able to see the good in this (she's no longer in pain) ....

Thank you all The wake is tonight, the funeral is tomorrow, and then I have to get my hair highlighted, and then the RD - craziness and I feel a little bad doing wedding things... but i know I have to ... my aunt, her daughter who took care of her, is insisting no wedding events are interrupted ... my dad is doing ok, he is not one to really show emotion so I don't know for sure how he feels but it was coming for a while, he had time to prepare and for someone like him, that might have been good, you know? And my grandpa is doing surprisingly well too.

hey! Im glad to hear your family is holding up well! Are you doing okay? Don't feel bad doing wedding things- Im sure she would want it that way and understands!!

That's so sad. My grandpa died in March. I know how you feel, he was sick too - we were slightly relieved that he too was at peace. I hope you are OK.

Thanks Gina. I am in a little bit of a funk - I mean, I am still excited about the wedding but part of that has died down a bit. I'm sure it will come back. It's just hard -- the wake, funeral, how my dad is doing, how my grandpa is doing is occupying so much space in my brain, the things I need to do for the wedding have been pushed aside a bit (the thoughts) and it's hard to focus so much on two big things, you know? So I feel like I am forgetting things I needed to do for the wedding. I know I have to wrap FH's gift, get a few cigars for him (I got him a humidor), write the cards for the RD gifts ... and pack .. and I think that's it ... but I feel like I haven't been thinking about it as much as I was, and that's dangerous ... FH is taking some time off tomorrow to clean the apt for me, something we planned to do tonight together, but we will be at the wake. He is probably not getting paid for the 7 days he is taking for the HM since he's used all his time already (he only gets 5 days to use from jan-dec), so this day is definitely unpaid ... but I appreciate him doing it.
All in all I'm ok, just a little deflated.

jenn, i'm so sorry. i wish i could give you a big hug right now. all i can say is that she lived a long happy life with her soulmate by her side. she'll be watching as you a matt start the same road on saturday.

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing okay - your grandma really would want you to enjoy your day and not let it put a damper on things.
Do NOT feel guilty about your wedding - love every second of it!!!! If anything, its exactly what people need after a hard few days!
