Re: girls on a diet...

Breakfast: Fruit
Lunch: Salad or Turkey Sandwich (NO MAYO, NO CHEESE) or anything else 'low-fat'
Dinner: Usually I just stay away from anything fried and not too much red meat. I'm allergic to dairy so I'd say stay away from dairy too b/c it seems to be working for me!
Snack/Dessert: If I get hungry throughout the day, I'll pack like low-fat rice cakes or one or two 100 calorie packs or another piece of fruit. After dinner, when you get that craving, I usually do fruit (again) or sugarfree jello with low fat cool whip. or rice krispie treat is okay too (if homemade).

This hasn't made me lose weight too fast, but it is definitely working. I've lost 20 pounds since January 1st doing this and I don't really feel like I'm dieting so it's definitely a good option

I have lost 12 pounds since January 1st and I never feel like I am depriving myself of anything

Breakfast: Poptart and a glass of milk or a bowl of cereal. Cup of coffee
Snack at work: granola bar or 100 calorie pack
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat
After work: another cup of coffee
Dinner: Grilled breast, side of veggies, side of rice or mac & cheese etc
Dessert: 1/2 cup of pudding

That is just a typical day.

Breakfast- 2 pieces of fruit, oatmeal (with smash a smashed banana), or cherrios with skim plus milk.

Lunch - Light salad or low fat peanut butter with bananas on whole wheat bread or a granola bar

Snack - Brown rice snaps with hummus, whole wheat crackers with hummus, fat free vanilla yogurt or a piece of fruit.

Dinner - a vegetable soup, or brown rice with a vegetable side, or brown rice with chicken (baked or grilled), or baked sweet potato with lean meat (usually chicken).

Dessert - Depending on how early I ate dinner, I'll have frozen grapes, or low fat yogurt.

I eat a lot of fruit, throughout the day. Right now I am just trying to lose a few more pounds and maintain it. I have already lost the majority of my 40 lbs I wanted to. My issue is always maintanence.

This is what I usually eat (or try to eat!)

Breakfast - Low sugar oatmeal (2pts) or lite laughing cow cheese on a deli flat (2pts) or weight watchers cream cheese on a deli flat (2pts)
and a coffee w/splenda and milk (1pt)

Lunch - 1 tablespoon of peanut butter sandwich on double fiber bread (4pts) or a deli flat (3pts) and a medium banana (2pts)

Dinner - varies every day. I still live with my mom so I dont have too much control over what gets served for dinner. And of the weekends, I go out to dinner with FH. It's usually where I screw up in my diet. If I get the chance to cook for myself, I like making a big omellete with 2 eggs and 1 egg white (4pts) and lots of veggies, sometimes cheese or ham for an extra 2 pts. Or I'll make chicken with veggies or grab a slice of pizza (7pts). Stuffed shells (stuffed with low fat ricotta cheese) are 1 pts each plus the one pt for the sauce and it's pretty easy to make also.

Snacks (depending on how many pts I use) - skinny cow icecream sandwich, grapes, baby carrots, vitatops,

I usually have a diabetice friendly yogurt with walnuts and brand cereal. The cereal gies it a great crunch and I get the needed fiber.

I have a snack of fruit or nuts two to three hours later.

Luch is normally leftovers of brown rice or pasta with a lean meat and always cheese.

I also live with my mom, but she cooks healthy. I usually have a salad with a meat and another side.

This is what I eat on a good day but I go off my diet A LOT. Any way if your a looking for ideas just google healthy recipes and tons come up. When I'm not at school and have time this is how I come up with healthy meals.

Haha, that is my problem. Whenever I am not at work, I feel like I eat everything in sight.

that's my problem too.

once the weekend comes, I'm always like 'where we going for dinner?' I just always try to order the healthiest thing on the menu, but sometimes I splurge

it's so bad LOL

I am the same way. it is hard to go home and not jsut snack on everything! I find though about the exercising thing, if you go with a friend that cna hold you accountable for showing up it helps, or even bring your gym clothes to work, change before you leave for the day and go straight there.. thats what I am doing today. Once I get home, it takes a lot more energy to get my butt back out to go to the gym!

Re: girls on a diet...

So I've suggested this on another thread somewhere here but South Beach has GREAT healthy recipes... I'm still in phase I but my typical day:

Breakfast: 4 egg whites, 1/2 cup of spinach and 1/2 cup of broccoli scrambled in,1 slice of low fat American cheese melted on top

Snack: 1 wedge of laughing cow cheese eaten slowly with a handful of celery sticks

Lunch: 3 large pieces of lettuce, 1 slice of turkey, 1 slice of ham and mustard and I make them into rolls... so take the lettuce put a slice of each, squirt in some mustard and roll them up... :)

Snack: 1 low fat string cheese and 20 almonds

Dinner: Grilled Chicken over baby spinach leaves with balsamic vinaigrette

Dessert: Either sugar free jello or 1/2 cup low fat ricotta cheese mixed with one packet of stevia sugar substitute and vanilla extract

The first phase is intense but it's meant to kick-start the weight loss... and after the first 2 weeks you slowly introduce fruit and whole grain back into the picture.

I hope this helps!!!

Are you working out? Or did you lose those 20 lbs just with the meal plan?

Re: girls on a diet...

I'm doing weight watchers so my diet is rarely the same everyday.
during the work week i try to stick to at least the same breakfast everyday.
I have coffee (which i still drink with cream and sugar) and 1 packet of true delights oatmeal (the hazelnut latte flavor is amazing and is only 2 pts.)
For lunch I try to have a salad with lots of protein and veggies and low fat dressing. For the days I'm sick of looking at a salad i go for soup because its comforting and very filling.
Before I leave work, I usually have either a piece of fruit or a low fat yogurt so I dont go home and stuff my face because I'm starving.
For dinner, it varies. I also still live at home so I usually eat whatever my parents have made. Since my mom is on WW too, we are usually pretty healthy..lean protein, veggies or a salad and a small serving of carbs (potatoes, pasta, etc.) If its something not so healthy, like my dads famous pasta dishes, I'll have just a small serving with a salad or some steamed veggies.
My mom and I have been going walking after dinner. It's been great. I usually do about 3 miles in less than an hour. It helps me to digest my dinner and keeps me from eating the rest of the night. Not to mention it clears my head and relaxes me.
The weekends are tricky. FH and I are always eating out. So I made a deal with him that we cant eat every meal of the weekend out. So we usually have a brunch type of meal. If we eat around 1pm we usually dont eat another meal for the rest of the day. Then if I'm hungry around 5 or 6pm I have healthy snacks like fruit or 100 calorie popcorn or yogurt.
